escif aug2014European research advocacy to cure spinal cord injury

The Endparalysis Foundation just entered a partnership with the European Spinal Cord Injury Federation (www.ESCIF.org). The proposal for partnership was officially approved after Corinne Jeanmaire introduced the foundation to ESCIF’s Assembly of Delegates during latest ESCIF annual congress (August 27th, 2014).

The collaboration will mainly consist in joining advocacy efforts to enhance regenerative research towards recovery after spinal cord injury.

It could include, for example:

.Increasing awareness of spinal cord injury realities and costs to society, .Promoting the need for establishing a flexible cure roadmap, .Promoting the need for increased targeted funding dedicated to regenerative research to find curative treatments for spinal cord injury, .Promoting the need for accelerated translational and/or clinical trial processes in Europe.

Cure spinal cord injury latest therapies research

We have to be clear: there is still no cure, therapy or treatment for (chronic) spinal cord injury. Judging by the increasing number of ongoing and planned clinical trials though, it seems that we might have come a bit closer to achieving a certain level of recovery.
