Mark Bacon has spent over 20 years in academic and commercial science. His research interests span biophysical chemistry, transport proteins and the use of biologics in optical computing. Mark has built and headed multidisciplinary research teams in the commercial biotechnology sector, developing unique drug delivery systems for the central and peripheral nervous system and novel agents for magnetic resonance imaging in a neurological setting.
Mark joined Spinal Research ISRT as Director of Research in 2007 where he has been charged with developing a translational strategy for Spinal Research to help accelerate the rate of approach of basic science innovation to clinic practise. He is currently involved in UK’s National SCI Strategy Board Information Management Group and the UK SCI Research Network and recently appointed as CEO and Scientific Director of Spinal Research.
